It was a chilly November morning when I awoke suddenly from a vivid dream. There, in my dream, stood an array of women in a line holding hands. Women of all ages, sizes, and races. It was a beautiful display of the diversity and beauty of women. Throughout the morning, I kept thinking about the dream and its significance. I prayed for God to give me the clarity to understand what it all meant. As I continued to ponder the meaning of my dream, I began to consider the diversity of the women I observed in my dream, their uniqueness, and how each woman was beautiful in her own distinct way. I reflected on how each was given different spiritual gifts and talents, created by God’s hands, planned in advance by Him. These beautiful women were then standing in unity for His kingdom’s purpose, but each set apart by His design.

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10

Oh, how easily we can fall into the trap of comparison. The enemy whispers the lie that we aren’t good enough. We look at another woman and think, I wish I were more like her. Envy creeps in. We wish we had someone else’s looks, style, personality, mothering ability, spiritual gifts, natural talent, career, or education. I’m not saying that we shouldn’t admire other women’s qualities and strengths; it’s essential to uplift other women by vocalizing things you admire about them. The trap of the enemy begins when we start to listen to the lies of comparison or envy. When this happens, we lose focus on all the unique and wonderful qualities that God specifically designed each of us with. When we focus on all we aren’t, we miss out on all that we are! If you find yourself caught in the trap of comparison, know there is freedom. Hold onto God’s truth, and it will set you free. Rise in confidence. God has called you, you are His, anointed for His purpose, and He loves you.

Meditate on these verses. Write them out and place them somewhere you can read them every day.

Anointed: 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 and 1 John 2:27
Called: 2 Timothy 1:9, 2 Peter 1:10-11, and John 15:16
His: Galatians 4:4-5, 7, 2 Corinthians 6: 18, Colossians 3:12, Psalm 82:6
He loves you: Galatians 2:20, 1 John 4: 9-10, Romans 5:8

God created you, from your physical features to your most inward parts. Perfect for your purpose. Different with intention. He made you this way because only you can do what He is calling you to do. God made you a specific way because He wants to use you.

“I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” Psalm 139:14

God loves each of us with immeasurable unrestricted love. He doesn’t love at different levels. He is LOVE. So live in love and learn to appreciate the beauty and uniqueness that God created in you. He crafted you with intention and care. You are His creation and made for amazing things.

Challenge: When you see a quality that you admire in another woman, share it with her.
