“This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
‭‭(Joshua‬ ‭1:9)‬ ‬‬

It’s a comforting feeling to know God is with us wherever we go. We are aware that when we believe in Christ as our savior and as our Lord, His Holy Spirit is always with us. This is the same Holy Spirit who rose Christ from the dead. It is no wonder it is commanded to be strong and courageous!

To be strong is not possible in our own strength. Instead, it is found in the power of the Holy Spirit, which comes by faith. All things are possible with Christ! All things are possible with His Holy Spirit.

To be courageous in this world, God knows we will need courage. We will face hard times, unprecedented times, trying times, times filled with the unknown of what our future holds, and yet, He commands courage.

One of God’s promises: “The Lord your God is going ahead of you. He will fight for you, just as you saw him do in Egypt.” ‭‭(Deuteronomy‬ ‭1:30)‬ ‬‬

When it feels like we are in the desert, and we’re not sure how we’ll ever get from point A to point B, may we be reminded of our beatitudes from Christ Jesus:

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew‬ ‭5:3-10)‬ ‬‬

Meditate on these verses and dare to be strong and courageous in our God, who goes before us and fights for us. Dare to be and do all that is of the Spirit:

“..love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” (Galatians 5:22-23)

We are never alone. Never without strength. Always fought for. And not a second goes by that we are not loved by this Mighty God!
